Constantly Evolving Websites – Ninja Marketing
Having a website for your business is a big step in the right direction to moving your business forward and improving business as a whole. Whether you have a website already or you are looking to get a website I advise to do some research into the type of website that you want for your business.
What research should I be Doing?
There are two types of websites, Static websites and Evolving Websites.
If you are not aware Google has changed its algorithm. In the past you could have a static website and have links pointing to your website using keywords anchor text. The more links you had using a certain keyword phrase your website will rank at the top of Google. This is no longer the way Google ranks websites in the search results. Google now wants websites with new and fresh content that relate to a search term. If you look at websites outside of Zimbabwe even Southern Africa and look at Europe and USA, all the websites that rank at the top of the search results for specific keywords all have a Blog or a News section. It does not matter what industry, every industry from a landscaper, bakery to a marketing agency all have a blog on their website.
Why do you need Evolving Websites?
A blog is used to add content to your website, the more content that you have on your website will give Google more keywords to rank your website. When you create a targeted Keyword Post for your website, two things will happen. The first is it will get indexed into Google and when someone is searching for that keyword your post will be very relevant and will appear in the search results. The second is you will be able to share that post via various different methods which will have people reading your post and possibly many more posts that you write and also look around your website and see what your website offers, this will lead to new business. Different methods such as Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Stumbleupon and RSS to name a few.
Short Tail & Long Tail Keywords
Short Tail Keywords are as it say, very short. To give you an example if you search “Shoes” you will get a load of search results and they will be varied and not very specific to what you are looking for. These keywords are harder to get business.
Long Tail Keywords are a group of keywords put together when you are searching. An example of a long tail search is “Ladies red high heel shoes”, this will produce a smaller amount of results but it is very targeted to what you are looking for and will most likely result in some business.
For your website to come up for both short and long tail keywords you need to have content on your website. The more content you have the higher the chance you will appear for the long tail keywords even though you may not even write a post for that specific search.
Changing the Game
If you are serious about changing your business and moving forward you need to have a blog within your website and then be shown and be explained how to use it best for your business website. Your website needs to be constantly evolving and new content being added to it on a regular basis.
Strike While the Iron is Hot
At the moment web designers in Zimbabwe do not work as the rest of the rest of the world does and if you want to be the leader in your industry sector then do it now and take advantage and rank for all your keywords in Google.
